We’re looking for a driven Technical Sales Engineer, that fully understands the technical aspects of software, and is excited about being on the forefront of bringing innovative ideas to light in the mobile application space. There are large opportunities in the mobile solutions space that our client is poised to solve and is expecting rapid growth in the coming years. With bringing on several new Sales team members, a Technical Sales Engineer is needed to help customers understand technology, and challenge the thinking of how the application can solve problems. This is a great opportunity to help define and shape the organization as it grows, and position yourself as a part owner in the company with stock options in the early years.
Skills / Experience Needed For The Job:
  • Ability to understand business models and mirror back the clients model with confidence.
  • Challenge the model where vulnerabilities are found.
  • Create a Software (Mobile heavy) Schematic that will achieve the business goals.
  • Ability to accurately estimate and cost said schematics
  • Ability to write and interpret tech specs such as infrastructure, software architecture, data flow diagrams, flow charts, API protocols and database schemas.
  • Ability to review and audit UX/UI designs for flaws in flow and business logic
  • Experience with Software Security Audits
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS3, JS (ES6+)
  • Knowledge of MERN (Mongo, Express, ReactJS and Node) Stack (Big Plus)
  • Knowledge of common compliance standards such as PCI and HIPAA
  • Manage a team of developers
  • Sound judgement and good business sense

Major Goals And Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Sales team by joining calls and demos, when needed, to articulate the capabilities and value of BuildFire’s solution.
  • Challenge customer thinking about functionality desired, in a thoughtful manor
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, developers, professional services, and support
  • Training Sales on new functionality as it is released, and onboarding new sales team members
  • Assist in adding technical diagrams and workflows into sales proposals, when needed
  • Customer facing expert in the mobile app space
  • Writing tech specs for the development team to being implementation
  • Manage a team of developers implementing various projects
  • Reviewing and testing technical implementations
  • Conduct technical hand offs with client’s technical team

Essential Activities:
25% With sales on technical calls
15% Estimating cost of projects and aiding in sales contracts
40% Reviewing and unblocking developers during implementation
10% Updating the team and client on progress made on each project
10% Testing, Deploying and handing off projects

People Supervised:
4-6 Software developers
2-4 Designers
Toughest Parts Of The Job:
The ability to analyse and accurately estimate projects quickly then deliver them within the estimated time.
